The National Aquatics Center, also known as the "Water Cube" or "Ice Cube", is located in the Beijing Olympic Park in Chaoyang District, Beijing (No. 11 Tianchen East Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing). It was founded on December 24, 2003 and was officially completed in January 2008. On November 27, 2020, the renovation project of the National Aquatics Center's Winter Olympics curling venue passed the acceptance inspection, transforming the "Water Cube" into the "Ice Cube". The National Aquatics Center is a premium venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a classic renovated venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. It is also the only Olympic venue built with donations from compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese. It has been named one of the "Top Ten New Architectural Wonders in China".

The total construction area of the National Aquatics Center is 65000-80000 square meters, of which the underground part has a construction area of no less than 15000 square meters, with a length, width, and height of 177 × 177 × 30 meters respectively. The appearance of the venue is like an ice crystal shaped cube, with a simple and modern design. The interior of the venue is a six story building with a square plan. The facilities in the museum mainly include a competition hall, a warm-up pool, a multifunctional hall, and a large amusement park. The Ice Cube Ice Sports Center is located in the underground space of the South Square of the National Aquatics Center, with a total construction area of approximately 8000 square meters. It consists of a 1830 square meter standard ice rink and four 45 × 5-meter standard curling courts and supporting service facilities.
